On Wednesday night at the BRIT Awards, Stormzy performed a new freestyle in which he called out the UK PM, Theresa May.
The new freestyle was sandwiched neatly between renditions of his Gang Signs & Prayer tracks ‘Blinded By Your Grace‘ and ‘Big For Your Boots‘. During the heated freestyle, the grime MC called out Theresa May over the mishandling of the tragic fire at Grenfell Tower in June 2017.
The lyrics for the freestyle read: “Yo, Theresa May, where’s the money for Grenfell?/What, you thought we just forgot about Grenfell, You’re criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages/You should do some jail time, you should pay some damages/You should burn your house down and see if you can manage this.”

The PM has since responded with a statement via a spokesman. See the statement below.
”I think the [prime minister] has been very clear that Grenfell was an unimaginable tragedy that should never have happened and should never be allowed to happen again,” Reuters reports. “She’s determined that the public inquiry will discover not just what went wrong but why the voices of the people of Grenfell had been ignored over so many years.”
Jeremy Corbyn tweeted his praise at Stormzy for winning a BRIT Award and for delivering a powerful performance. See his tweet below.
