Wolf Parade share new song ‘Valley Boy’

Last year, when Wolf Parade returned from their indefinite hiatus of many years, there were hearty man-screams heard across the globe at the news; the return of one of the most anthemic and rabble-rousing indie-rock acts of recent decades was not something to be quiet about. At the time, Wolf Parade released a new 4-track EP, but promised a new album down the line.

After over a year of waiting, the band have finally followed up on their promise, and today have announced that they will be releasing their fourth album, Cry Cry Cry, through Sub Pop on 6th October. It is their first full length since 2010’s underrated Expo 86.

As a first taste of Cry Cry Cry, Wolf Parade have delivered the new song and video, ‘Valley Boy‘. From the opening guitar plucks, into the rolling and tumbling gait that the song possesses throughout, this sounds like the Wolf Parade of old; rejuvenated and back to incite more moshing. This is backed up by what co-leader, Dan Boeckner, has to say about the reunion: “Once we got back together, I was playing guitar, writing and singing in a way that I only do while I’m in Wolf Parade…It’s just something that I can’t access without the other three people in the room.

Listen to ‘Valley Boy‘ and keep your eyes peeled for more new music from Wolf Parade, before the release of Cry Cry Cry in October.
