Adam Mac dances with danger on spellbinding new track, ‘Make You Mine’ (Premiere)

Breakout singer-songwriter Adam Mac is kicking off the spooky season with a groovy, 70s-inspired single that is sure to be stuck in your head. “Make You Mine” is a self-proclaimed “disco country” track from the rising artist that highlights his soulful vocals and masterful songwriting skills. The brand new single officially drops tomorrow on all streaming platforms but Music Crowns has the exclusive first-listen today.

Taking listeners on a story-driven journey, Adam found himself breaking a bit of writer’s block as he created the haunting melody. “‘Make You Mine’ came to me at a time during the middle of the pandemic when I was personally struggling to find any inspiration to write,” he shared. “I had never experienced such intense writer’s block and was honestly feeling super defeated, when one day I just grabbed my guitar and started humming what would become the melody for this song. It was right around this time last year so I was definitely channeling the spooky season. I wrote it in maybe 30 minutes. When a story just comes to me like this one did, I know better than to question or overthink it.”

When asked what he hopes listeners take away from the song, he shared that he hopes it’ll “make people feel good and be a song they can just groove to. I want it to give them a sense of nostalgia with the way we’ve produced it to pay homage to all my favorite types of music like disco, Motown, and soul. ” Certainly, Adam has done the genres proud. The track is one of the best produced independent tracks we’ve heard in quite a while.

As for what fans can expect next from Adam? He shares that he’s currently in the studio finishing up the rest of a project that, “will be a totally different sound than anything I’ve put out before.” Experimenting with his favorite sounds alongside producer Nathan Cogan, he excitedly shares they are, “creating something really funky and unique.”
