Music Premiere: Callum Sutton Unleashes Soul-Stirring New Single “Give You Something”

Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Callum Sutton returns with an electrifying fourth single from his highly anticipated self-produced album The Union. Premiering today via Music Crowns, “Give You Something” is a masterclass in emotional intensity and vintage soul craftsmanship—an inspired blend of gospel-infused soul, rootsy rock ‘n’ roll, and lyrical grit honed over a decade of musical exploration.

Written in Sutton’s early twenties during his time busking on the streets of Canterbury, “Give You Something” carries the raw DNA of artists like T-Bone Walker, Little Milton, and Bob Dylan, reimagined through the lens of Sutton’s matured sonic sensibilities. Years later, the track finds its fully realized voice in a powerful, soul-drenched arrangement recorded at Unity Sound Studios, with Sutton performing vocals, guitar, and harmonica.

“I’m happy with the gospel/old school soul vibe that this tune has,” says Sutton. “Especially during the extended outro where the BVs repeat like a mantra, the Hammond B3 takes off like a plane and just hangs there in the sound, and the drums and percussion really push the rhythm forward.”

Indeed, it’s in that climactic outro where “Give You Something” soars. Bursting with James Brown-inspired yowls, swirling gospel harmonies, and a Hammond B3 that practically levitates, the track is an ecstatic release of musical tension—equal parts church revival and soul revival. Sutton captures the essence of classic American soul and makes it his own, his performance bleeding with authenticity and reverence for his influences.

“Give You Something” marks the latest chapter in a strong rollout for The Union, a ten-track album selected from over 150 unreleased songs penned by Sutton over the past 12 years. The single follows on the heels of three acclaimed releases and builds anticipation for a full-length concert film, set to drop this fall, showcasing Sutton and his band bringing the album’s songs to life.

With prior features in Good Music Radar, Rising Artists, Music For All, Beach House Mag, and Edgar Allan Poets, Sutton’s music continues to strike a chord with listeners and critics alike. Music Crowns is proud to spotlight an artist whose sound balances raw honesty, vintage tones, and forward-thinking production—an unmistakable voice in modern soul and roots music.
