Following the buzz of their self-titled debut album, LA’s genre-bending punk trio DAMNAGE are back — louder, rawer, and more unfiltered than ever — with a blistering new single: a live-wire cover of the punk rock cult anthem “Wild In The Streets.” And this one’s got serious pedigree.
The band tapped Greg Hetson, legendary guitarist of Circle Jerks and Bad Religion, to join them on this electrified reimagining of the classic track — a song that’s long held a place in the band’s DNA. The result? A gritty, explosive homage that captures the real essence of punk: fast, loud, and live.
“We didn’t want to overthink it. We just plugged in and let it rip,” DAMNAGE share. “We’ve played ‘Wild In The Streets’ at just about every stage we’ve hit, and we wanted to reimagine this classic as well as honour the iconic version we all love.”
Recorded in just a few hours at Hetson Sounds — Greg’s LA studio — the session was raw by design: no frills, no filters, no edits. What you hear is exactly what went down. And it all started at a show that’s already become band folklore.
Hetson first joined DAMNAGE for an impromptu jam at their gig at The Viper Room, a spontaneous moment of punk serendipity that turned into a full-blown collaboration. From there, the energy was undeniable.
“It was surreal,” the band reflects. “Just us and Greg, face to face with a punk legacy.”
So why this song? According to DAMNAGE frontman Tim Stewart, it all traces back to the 1986 cult skate film Thrashin’, where he first encountered the track. Since then, it’s been the band’s go-to closer — a wild exclamation point on every chaotic, sweat-drenched set.
More than a band, DAMNAGE is a brotherhood. A celebration of chaos. An unapologetic punch in the face of convention — fueled by defiance, deep friendship, and a shared love of all things loud.
