Today, Music Crowns is thrilled to premiere the latest single from tinvis, the indie rock project of songwriter Joel Daniel. “Echo” is the second release from their highly anticipated debut album Texnia, set to drop via Mama Mananá records this summer.
The hauntingly beautiful “Echo” is rooted in introspection and movement, capturing the feeling of existing between two worlds – California and Texas – without belonging to either. This theme is reflected in the song’s dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes, which blend elements of contemporary Bob Dylan and vintage Neil Young with the sonic textures of Wild Pink and Radiohead.
The making of Texnia was made possible by an arts grant from the City of Davis, CA, through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Fund, a program that has since contributed over $50K to local artists. For this record, Daniel collaborated with an impressive lineup of musicians, including producer Max Hart (War on Drugs, Katy Perry), lead guitarist Luke Reynolds (Guster, Sharon Van Etten), and drummer Eric Gardner (Tom Morello, Melissa Etheridge).
But Texnia represents more than just a stunning collection of songs – it’s a testament to the power of community-driven support for the arts. The original grant that kickstarted the project has since evolved into the Davis Independent Music Initiative, which has distributed over $70K to fellow artists.
“Echo” is now available on all streaming platforms, offering a mesmerizing glimpse into the larger journey that is Texnia. As we await the album’s release, join the conversation on how artists can reclaim space in a rapidly changing industry.
