We’ve been fans of Shamil for a while now, the Alaskan R&B, pop tinged singer has been consistently delivering bangers with infectious melodies and unique instrumentation. After dropping off ‘SOHANA’ last year is when we first heard about him – the atmospheric offering, saw the singer set forth a deep lament aimed at a past lover; offset by a rich, alt-R&B instrumental, solidifying his name for us as one to watch in the bubbling underground R&B scene.
Coming off the back of his most recent offering “OTL,” Shamil shows no signs of slowing down as he returns with yet another love-tinged mix of pop and R&B, in the form of “High And Dry”. The single hears Shamil lyrically longing for a lover, atop his soft and sincere singing chops soar across a riff of delicate skitters which lace through the instrumentals drum-line. For the cut, Shamil links up with the lady in question while performing his lines.
The prodigious young artist who is already drawing comparisons to the likes of The Weeknd and PARTYNEXTDOOR, and has since seen Shamil being scouted by Bronz of 13 Life (A&R scout of artists including Post Malone and Harmony Samuels) shining the spotlight brightly on the young emerging talent.
