PREMIERE: SOMEFINN releases a new collaborative music video for alt-rock single ‘Contact’

Co. Louth based SOMEFINN has released a stunning video for the new single ‘‘Contact’’, premiered by Music Crowns below.

The track is the third release off SOMEFINN’s new ALBUM ‘…TSK, TSK..’, which was released earlier this year. Influenced by greats such asThe Voidz, Chet Baker, Feist, ’Contact’ is a song about self-doubt.

“It’s a passion cry, a crying out for touch.”

“It came from an old song idea, which has been through many iterations – the one thing that was consistent, no matter how many times the song was rewritten, was this cry: ‘CONTACT’. That was the thing, then, to build the song around.”

The final piece in the puzzle of ‘Contact’, Paul ended up getting in touch with Arlene Caffrey, as well as director Darren Finn. Together, they sought to create a video that would celebrate human connection, which features a playful yet arresting performance from Caffrey.

SOMEFINN are an alternative rock band whose story begins where that of another band ends. Paul Finn was lead vocalist and songwriter for Irish Choice Music Prize Nominees The Flaws, who called it quits in 2016.

The band’s line-up consists of David Marron (Sanzkrit, Derek Ryan), Paul Markey (Sanzkrit), Paul Carolan (Finnian) and Darren Finn, Paul’s nephew, who are to be found on guitars, bass, drums and keyboards respectively. ‘Contact’ is the third single from their debut album ‘…Tsk, Tsk…’

‘Contact’ was recorded at Black Mountain Studios, Co. Louth. Mixing was done by Darren Clarke (Ham Sandwich), and mastering by Fergal Davis (Muse, Sinéad O’Connor).
