Brooklyn native Tyrin returns with his latest single, A Little Bit More, delivering a vibrant slice of summer while diving into the messy realities of relationships and personal growth, premiering here at Music Crowns.
Known for his genre-blending sound that fuses post-punk grit with hip-hop swagger, Tyrin once again showcases his knack for pushing creative boundaries and crafting music that resonates on multiple levels.
A Little Bit More is an instant summer anthem—upbeat, sun-soaked, and perfect for a drive down the coast. But it’s more than just a feel-good track. Beneath the catchy melodies and laid-back vibe lies a narrative steeped in introspection. Inspired by Outkast’s Hey Ya, Tyrin crafts a song that juxtaposes a breezy tune with lyrics that unpack the bittersweet emotions of a relationship coming to an end.
“It’s a song about realising that some relationships aren’t built to last… letting go of comfort is the epitome of closing time. The saddest and most uplifting closing. This song came at the end of a relationship that, while having been the reason for so much of my growth, had run its course. We had outgrown it and we struggled to fly free.”
The production on A Little Bit More is a masterclass in genre fusion. Post-punk textures meet hip-hop beats, creating a fresh indie pop sound that’s both infectious and compelling. The song’s clever quirks and catchy hooks linger long after the first listen, marking it as a standout in Tyrin’s growing catalog.
As Tyrin heads into 2024, A Little Bit More offers just a glimpse of what’s to come. With his ability to blend emotional depth with engaging, genre-crossing sounds, Tyrin is poised to keep pushing boundaries and delivering more innovative music in the year ahead.
