Serge Clivio is an artist whose passion for both music and theater have led him down the path of being able to create what he wishes to. His involvement with music and theater travel far back into his childhood, and Clivio seeks to fulfill his lifelong goal of being able to remain passionate about his music. Most recently Serge overcame his biggest challenge – beating cancer. “Recording JOY truly helped me find my voice again. 2021 was the hardest year of my life. Overcoming cancer was my greatest challenge – however it was also my greatest teaching. I found that there really always joy to be had both in the best of times and darkest of times. I’m grateful for my family and friends who helped lift me up and save me. The holidays have always been a time of comfort and joy (and now healing) for me. So a holiday album only made sense to help bring back to solid ground again!”
Serge Clivio has been heavily influenced by both theater and music ever since his childhood. Beginning at the age of 5, Clivio has been involved with singing, acting, and performing, all of which leads him into the person he has become today. He was featured on the hit show, X-Factor while in high school, and won the Golden Ticket at The American Idol Experience, located in Orlando. Clivio shows dedication for both of these activities, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree for Musical Theater only backs up his commitment for creation.
JOY is an album which seeks to take its audience on a journey into the holiday season.
Within JOY, several familiar songs are paired alongside original songs by Clivio. Classics, such as ‘White Christmas,’ ‘Mary, Did You Know?,’ and ‘This Christmas’ provide an air of familiarity to anyone who has connected with the music of the holiday season. Clivio’s take on these songs provides a gentle atmosphere and this theme or calm is present throughout the album. Clivio’s original song on the album, ‘Christmas For Two,’ fits in with the classics present on the album, which provide a fulfilling experience.
JOY seeks to bring a new feeling to the holiday season by combining old classics with new songs to create a sense of warmth this winter season.
