PREMIER: Theresa’s New Single ‘Magic’ Gives Us Something to Dance to this Summer

Who knows how Theresa finds the time to be an advertising music executive by day, as well as creating all these pop-centric dance tunes as well? I have no clue, but I certainly ain’t complaining! In fact, we should be grateful that we have Theresa’s songs to listen to at all. Despite wanting to be a popstar since a very young age and her song writing obsession beginning at the age of 11, Theresa abandoned her efforts to pursue a career as a music artist years ago, opting to work behind the scenes in the music industry instead. Thankfully, a few years ago she realised that she was born with the gift of music and wanted to share it with the world. She’s now 42 years old and is thriving in the music scene, despite still only being early in her career.

Since her debut single in 2019, she released 10 more singles throughout the pandemic, proving her unshakeable determination to make it as an artist. Today, Theresa has released her 12th single, titled ‘Magic’. This track is super uplifting, with the message and theme being about looking to the future with hope and optimism. This is a message we could all do with hearing, and it’s all the more relevant after the past two years of being locked inside due to the pandemic. Many people became very bored and unmotivated over that time period, but this song by Theresa aims to lift people out of the dumps.

The song starts with a hard-hitting drum beat that you can feel in your chest, suitably setting the mood for the rest of the song as it really gets you going. In fact, it has a similar vibe to Shakira’s inspirational Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) in its positive outlook and impactful beat. The first verse lyrics address the struggle that people are experiencing, and that Theresa has been through in the past, but the end of the verse expresses the need to move on. The pre-chorus then sets the scene as she sings beautifully of clouds moving away and seeing the light from your window. This sets the mood for the chorus perfectly, which goes ‘so much magic in the air, you can feel it everywhere, living life without a care’. The chorus represents the song’s climax and communicates the message Theresa is wanting to portray; the feeling of freedom and euphoria you get when you move on from tough times and see the future being much brighter.

This is yet another strong piece of music by the Long Island native, and long may her music career continue to flourish!
