Caitlin Murphy’s hometown is Melbourne, Victoria, Australia but she’s known as Dubai’s First Lady of Folk/Pop/Rock – Follow Caitlin Murphy along her journey to become the next Rolling Stone “Street to Stage” winner.
“Songwriting came as a natural release for me, when all the pent up frustration of being a misunderstood teenager finally rose to the surface resulting in heavy lyrics and resonating chords. My songs center around heartache, the realization of needing to grow up, finding strength in being alone and an endless desire to travel. These days, my experiences and surroundings feed a nostalgic hunger to find a listenable original sound, get songs down and ultimately make my mark. Upon leaving Australia, I have spent the past 6 years living in Europe and the Middle East and it was on my travels that I truly discovered my love of singing; entertaining people with my guitar usually for fun and, occasionally, for food. A recent addition to the Dubai live music scene, I take to the stage with consummate ease aided with nothing more than my trusty acoustic guitar and sultry voice. But since meeting the Desert Collective boys, I have decided to take my songwriting to a new, more experimental level, playing electro/pop rock.”
