Introducing Hard Rockers Reaping Monday [@reapingmonday]

Reaping Monday

Reaping Monday is more than just your typical rock band from Starkville, Mississippi. They have quite possibly the most exclusive sound of any local band in the surrounding area. They have a unique blending of styles in that the mainframe of their music is hard rock, but they also have hardcore-style breakdowns peppered throughout so there is something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you like clean vocals, screams, guitar solos, clean melodic guitars, or down-and-dirty breakdowns, they mix it all into their own signature sound. Their influences come from different styles and eras ranging from bands such as Breaking Benjamin, Framing Hanley, and Sevendust all the way back to Metallica and Pantera, and those influences can be heard in their unique style of music.

Meet The Band

Reaping Monday is currently a four-piece band consisting of vocalist T.J. Franks, drummer Spence Crabtree, guitarist/vocalist Wesley Fox, and guitarist Weston Stone. The band was originally formed in 2010 by T.J. Franks and Spence Crabtree. Wesley Fox joined the band in 2011, and they noticed right away that he and T.J. shared a similar writing style so at that point they began to write music together. “There is no better feeling than for someone to tell us how much they love something that we wrote or that it helped them through something in their life.” Says T.J. Weston Stone is the newest member of the band. He was added in early 2013. Reaping Monday tends to have unforgettable energy on stage. They bring their all for their fans. “When Reaping Monday takes the stage people know that we move around and we genuinely love our music, so we get really excited to play in front of people. We give it 110% every time we go on stage because the fans deserve the best show we can put on.”, says Wesley Fox.

Reaping Monday has played many shows in their career to date. They have played everything from tiny hole-in-the-wall bars with fewer than 10 people in the audience to huge packed-out concert venues. They have shared the stage with Egypt Central, One Less Reason, Hot Action Cop, Smile Empty Soul, Parabelle, and many others. Their debut EP Watch You Fall was released on March 31st, 2012 and is available to purchase directly from members of the band or on many popular music services such as iTunes and Amazon MP3. They are currently recording a new single titled “Enigma” and are in the planning stages of recording a new EP.

Reaping Monday’s goal is to gain enough notoriety to be able to play all over the United States, and hopefully someday all over the World. “With more and more artists emerging every day, it becomes harder and harder for any band to “make it”, but we will never give up on that dream. Obviously, it would be amazing to get signed by a big record label and have everything that goes along with it, but truthfully getting “famous” and making a lot of money are secondary to just touching people through our music and forming a bond with fans all over the world.”, says Franks.
