John Lennon and Yoko Ono biopic heading to the big screen

It has been announced that a biopic about John Lennon and Yoko Ono is currently in the works.

The biopic following The Beatles member and his spouse Yoko Ono is said to document the couple’s love story and include anti-war activism. The currently untitled project is being produced by Yoko Ono with Michael De Luca in the director’s seat and Immersive Pictures Josh Bratman.

Luca, best known for his box office hits, The Social Network, Captain Phillips and Moneyball, has stated, “The story will focus on ripe and relevant themes of love, courage and activism in the US – with the intention of inspiring today’s youth to stand up for and have a clear vision for the world they want.

Yoko Ono is expected to reissue several albums this year following last years releases of Unfinished Music Nos. 1 & 2 with John Lennon.

Musician biopics appear to be on trend this year with features on both Tupac Shakur and Britney Spears due for release in the near future.
