Nina Jones new single “Never Let You Go” is a catchy, easy to listen to songthat sounds like a pophit straight out of the 90’s. She sings about trusting someone and falling in love with them, with her soft vocals giving the record a gentle loving feeling to it. But she still shows off what she’s capable of by adding little bits of vocal flares to it, showing just how powerful her voice can be.
The song is just easy to sing along to and easy to listen to, it’s hard not to like it! It has a real retro feel to it, with funky guitar stabs, riffs and soft synths tracks. The drum track is typical of the style, using a drum machine to create an infectious beat with clap tracks that’ll leave you clapping along too. The addition of double tracking her voice on the choruses just makes them stand out even more and gives the track a long lasting hit feel.
It is the kind of trackanyone could listen to and enjoy. The little riff interlude also gives a refreshing change to the vibe of the song, showing some lovely guitar work and reinforcing the pop-funk feel to the record. It has potential to go far and it’s easy to see that a lot of work has gone into making a well rounded, accessible pop song for Nina which fits Nina’s voice seamlessly.
