A powerhouse female vocalist and songwriter from Edinburgh, Rachel Johnson was recently featured on this very website thanks to the quality of previous single ‘Pieces of Me’. Now she’s back with ‘Safe Island’, a new track which proves that the former was no fluke.
The song opens full of ominous intent, with quiet instrumentation supporting a vocal that seems to come from deep within. From there, the pace picks up and finally finishes with an upbeat, crashing close. Tremendous fun.
