Having previously impressed with pure pop singles back in the 80s, it’s been some time since vocalist Carmel has been a fixture on the music scene.
Now she returns with a twin single which takes a more mature turn – understandable given the years that have passed – which is unlikely to find the success of her previous work, but is still a very pleasant listen indeed.
‘Sad Situation’ comes across as a tribute to the late 60s vibe of the Beatles, while ‘Second Wife Blues’ offers a pop laced take on the wronged woman blues sub-genre.
