Glasgow singer-songwriter Toni Etherson has gone back to her roots with her latest recordings.
The 22 year old self-taught musician reached the latter stages of the UK’s biggest unsigned talent search in 2010, where she was encouraged by the judging panel to work with a band.
Showcasing with her band at Glasgow’s West End Festival in 2011, it was starting to come together for the young singer. Deep down though, she felt she was losing control of her music. Toni said “I decided things weren’t quite going the way I’d like musically, so I’ve reverted back to the solo thing for just now. I think it gives me an opportunity to develop at my own pace as an artist, but I’d never rule out working with other people again.”
One of her most enjoyable times in music has been writing with legendary Scots musician Steven Lindsay (The Big Dish), and she’s keen to forge similar relationships with other artists. The new songs prove Toni is starting to blossom as an artist, and while just demos, they expose her potential perfectly…
