The United States Navy Band has been giving stunning performances of all styles of music such as ceremonial pieces, jazz, country, and popular music since 1925. They play at various ceremonial events for the government including, but not limited to, presidential inaugurations, state dinners, and state funerals.
The U.S. Navy band has been a hit with audiences in the past with their mix of new and old covers. The members are all extremely talented and it shows in their music. In the video below you can see a great example of this. Although the band is known for their big brass and string sections, this performance sees them cover a medley of ‘Somewhere Over The Rainbow’ and ‘What A Wonderful World’. They play with only a ukulele, vocals and a choir and it is truly a heartwarming performance.
The medley was made popular by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole and is still a popular choice for artists to cover. However, this cover is one of the best we’ve seen!
