Earthsea release vibrant video for their single ‘Four More Years’

Earthsea are old friends who root their sound in British alt-rock. Since forming, they’ve seen success with two nationwide tours, playing at the likes of Camden Assembly, Hoxton Bar and Grill, the Cavern Club and Manchester Academy 3. They’ve also seen features with XFM, BBC Introducing, The Manchester Evening News and Tom Robinson’s ‘Fresh On The Net’.

Earthsea have just released a vibrant and though-provoking new video for their 2020 single ‘Four More Years’. The video features powerful visuals, with clips of social commentary and reflective moments laced over silhouettes of the band. It plays into the songs themes of geopolitical chaos. ‘Four More Years’ is a rocketing track that features intricate and dynamic musicianship in all instruments, plucky guitars, bleeping synths and grooving bass that create interesting polyrhythms throughout the song. Precise, melancholic and absorbing, the track feels ready to burst with emotion but manages to keep itself held together, creating an uneasiness.

The band share, “We wrote Four More Years around the 2016/17 US election cycle. It’s our fantasy plan to deal with a barely believable but in no way fantastic man.

He’s back! His bloated ego trumping the lives and wellbeing of people all over the world. We’re still pissed off. But we like the song.

The video we shot opens this out, against the backdrop of climate oblivion and the geopolitical chaos we face as we go into the 2020s.”
