A Christmas song in the most literal sense of the word, ‘Ho Ho Ho It’s Christmas’ is the new single from Dominic Halpin, a songwriter who wears his heart squarely on the sleeve of his novelty Christmas jumper. Sugary and sweet but not overly saccharine, it’s a genuine treat.
Some might find it a little cloying at first, but trust us when we say this is one where you should pay attention to what the video is doing all the way through. Taking in Christmas from a child’s eye view, it reminds us of all the things we enjoy and perhaps take for granted at Christmas time.
It’s particularly poignant given that the song is raising money for the Moore Foundation, an organisation that helps out less fortunate children in various ways. So, it might sound like a straight forward pop song, but there is definitely more to this one than meets the eye.
