Pride in Music is the new initiative helping to support LGBTQ+ artists in British music

A new cross-industry network has launched to help support LGBTQ+ artists and allies in British music.

Pride In Music, founded by David James Lennon of AMLOR MusicGuy Howes of Creative Artists Agency and Jamie Ahye of Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group, will provide a network space for the LGBTQ+ community and allies in the British music to socialize and build relationships with one another.

The network already boasts committee support from the ilk of Blake Price, Mark Fabish, Simon Jones, and Sophie Harley.

On its website, PiM says of itself: “Pride in Music aims to provide a support network to break down stereotypes, to work as an education service to employers and staff, as an entry point to the industry for underprivileged youth and to provide a peer mentoring, networking, and an industry-wide social group to help those who may struggle with the anxieties and stigmas that generally arise with these topics.”

East Creative have already thrown their support behind Pride In Music, and now the network is set to supply education for employers and is offering a chance to one burgeoning LGBTQ+ musician the chance to take to the stage at London-based pop festival the Mighty Hoopla in June.

Promotion for the chosen artist will be provided by the Mighty Hoopla, aiming to spread the artist’s name and music to a much wider audience.

On the first month of 2023, Mighty Hoopla will again give everyone the time of their lives with the Butlins Big Weekender, an unforgettable massive party with great music and festivities. This party will make you feel like a child again with fairground rides and pool parties. Some nights you may channel your inner diva as everyone’s invited to participate in the Fancy Dress Parade and belt out tunes at the Cabaret Club, ala Cher.

If you love bowling and trivia, you can join the Late-Night Bowling Session and the Big Hoopla Quiz. Indeed, there’s something for everyone on this three-night extravaganza where you can be yourself and show everyone your true colors.

This festive weekend is happening on the south coast of England, 90 minutes outside of London, and will be the vacation you’ve been waiting for. So, you better get those tickets to make your winter night of January 2023 the hottest. Bognor Regis is a beautiful seaside resort in West Sussex with a bustling town center that can be reached via train from the capital city in less than two hours.

Great artists and LGBTQ+ supporters Melanie C from the famed Spice girls, Belinda Carlisle, Horsemeat Disco, The House Gospel Choir, and many more will rock the stage of this great festival, so you better be there.

Placements offering experience music festival work such as artist liaison and running will also be offered to underprivileged individuals in the community are also up for grabs at the event.
