Freeze ‘Young Thug Violence’ – Pimp Music from Detroit, Michigan, USA
Freeze, a born and bred Detroiter, is back from Federal Prison with a city-sized chip on his shoulder and he says it’s time to reclaim what’s rightfully his. He has just released a 2 Disc set with a DVD entitled “The Pimp God Project” as his final contribution to the Pimpin’.
Hip Hop Crownz: What’s up with this Pimp God Project? You’ve been receiving a lot of hate from the title.
Freeze: With this project I felt like one of the apostles… like Paul or something. When I was in the game, I was fortunate enough to come up under some of the greatest players of our time… I wanted to document the game I was getting so some of the younger players in the game wouldn’t have to make the same mistakes I did.
HHC: What types of mistakes?
Freeze: What didn’t I do wrong when I was coming in the game? I was all over the place, just searching. And I would listen to damn near anybody who had a few females. I was just really hungry for that type of success where you can just go and buy you a Rolls Royce tomorrow if you wanted to.
HHC: Can we talk about what you went to prison for?
Freeze: I’m cool with it. I’m transparent about all of that. I feel like when you try to hide something like this, it will just come back and bite you in the ass later. I was in prison for illegal interstate commerce. I was transporting prostitutes across state lines for the purposes of prostitution. And one of the girls ended up being 17. That was all she wrote.
HHC: I heard it was a snitch that did you in.
Freeze: It was. The guy goes by the name of Ramses. So if you meet a fat scum-bucket named Ramses or Gregory Fultz, turn and run away. But in reality, it all falls back on the pimp when you’re pimpin’ so I didn’t have anyone to blame but myself.
HHC: That’s real. So what’s up with this new video? It’s like a movie.
Freeze: Yeah, I was just chronicling my journey. The pimpin’ dun went to jail and got out with nothing and I wanted to show that. I also wanted to show that I ain’t never gone be down for long so I started putting my moves in order to come back up. First step… I needed me a fresh new bitch! You dig!!!
