Singer-songwriter, Philip La Rosa, has launched his new EP ‘STRONG’ just in time for Pride, Western Australia, celebrations. The EP, which includes nine original tracks, was written by La Rosa and Sydney-based producers – the Banton Brothers. La Rosa released ‘Pride’, the first track to be lifted from the EP, back in March and received a remarkable reception.

Canberra based producer Taka Perry describes La Rosa’s brand of pop music as “familiar, yet fresh and innovative”. ‘STRONG’ showcases his versatility as a musician, from the soft power ballad ‘Hurricane’ to the upbeat lead single ‘Pride’,” he said.

La Rosa released ‘Pride’, the first track to be lifted from the EP, back in March and received a fantastic reception. The track, which is rich and densely layered, shows La Rosa building his own sonic cathedral. His increasingly formidable ability to meld noise and hooks in exciting, surprising ways shows that he’s an impressively confident artist with a very clear vision. ‘Pride’ acts as a proud, rallying cry that’s impossible to ignore.

Having struggled with being a victim of bullying, Philip turned away from his dream to be a singer as a teenager, now 23, he hopes to make a difference by sharing his music. “I don’t feel like there’s enough positive energy in the music industry anymore and I want to be able to use my music to spread positive vibes where I can,” he said.

‘STRONG’ is due for official release 2 December 2016 but will be showcased at all of his upcoming live shows.

The video for ‘Pride’ is out 18 November but you can check out a sneak peek below.
