St. Vincent and Carrie Brownstein are making a comedy about touring

Larger-than-life guitar powerhouses and prevailing voices within the feminist rock scene within their own rights, St. Vincent and Sleater Kinney‘s Carrie Brownstein are now teaming up to take on the realms of comedy.

The pair are no strangers to collaboration: with St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, is currently producing a new album for Sleater Kinney and cameoing on Brownstein’s critically acclaimed skit show, Portlandia.

Now, the pair are bridging the gap between music and comedy, teaming up create a movie about live gigs where the duo will portray exaggerated characters based on themselves.

Collider reports that Clark and Brownstein have co-written the as-of-yet untitled tour film together, and are said to play “heightened versions of themselves.”

The film, which as of yet isn’t set to go into production any time soon, will be co-produced Brownstein with Jett Steiger and Lana Kim and is set to be Portlandia director Bill Benz.

Little is know about the exciting new film, but an anonymous source at the studio has said that the “the project isn’t a ‘mockumentary.’”
