Alt-J have shared a new song and track listing from their third studio album Relaxer.
‘3WW‘ is the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming debut, and guests the vocals of Wolf Alice‘s Ellie Rowsell.
The 5-minute ebb and flow track comes after the band teased their album with a trailer on Friday. It is set for release on 9th June.
“We’d like to thank you for your patience over the last year or so,” alt-J write on social media. “After finishing touring [second album] This Is All Yours in December 2015 we took a long break. Thom released a solo album; Gus opened a restaurant; Joe has been watching a lot of films. We hadn’t set a time limit on our time off but by August 2016 we were ready to get back into the studio. The result is our third album, Relaxer, and we are really excited for you to hear it.”
Alt-J are also setting off on a major festival tour this summer, but also have a headline date at London’s O2 planned on 16 June.
The band’s last LP This Is All Yours was released in 2014. Their Mercury Prize-winning debut An Awesome Wave was released in 2012. Drummer Thom Sonny Green also released a solo record titled ‘High Anxiety’ last August.
