Blondie unveil interstellar new video for single ‘Fun’

Blondie have unveiled an intergalactic new video for their new single ‘Fun’.

Directed by Beyoncé collaborator Dikyal Rimmasch, the clip features the band performing the song in a spaceship steaming across the cosmos. Explaining the concept for the video, guitarist Chris Stein said: “Quoting Emma Goldman, ‘If I can’t dance I don’t want to be part of your revolution’. In these trying times we need some fun. We’re very serious about fun.”

The track is the lead single from the new wave legends forthcoming album Pollinator and was written by Stein along with Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and TV On The Radio‘s Dave Sitek. The LP is a hotbed of stellar writing collaborations with those among the count including Johnny Marr, Sia, Charli XCX, The Strokes‘ guitarist Nick Valensi and Dev Hynes.

The band were recently confirmed as main support at Phil Collins‘ British Summer Time show in London’s Hyde Park in July, in addition to announcing a co-headline tour with garage rock veterans Garbage later this year.
