Diskull shares bouncy remix for SIDEPIECE’s single ‘Acrobatic’ and gears up to perform at EDC Las Vegas 2021

When Diskull received an email telling him all about a remix competition ran by Insomniac Records for Grammy-nominated duo SIDEPIECE’s single “Acrobatic,” little did he know that an old production of his would become the key to winning and performing at EDC Las Vegas later this year. Diskull’s “Acrobatic” remix has now just been released, alongside remixes from the likes of J. Worra, Martin Ikin and Biscits, and the reception has been nothing short of impressive. As Diskull reveals about the fascinating story:

“This is my remix that won the 2021 EDC Discovery Project for SIDEPIECE’s “Acrobatic” single on Insomniac Records. My friend Tommie Sunshine sent an email out to all of his label artists encouraging us to enter the contest. I had this really cool half finished beat that I lost inspiration on so I pulled it out of the dust and slapped the Acrobatic vocal on it, and boom! It fit like a glove. I actually got goosebumps finishing it cause it felt like it just fit so perfectly. Fast forward a couple months later, to the Director of Insomniac calling my phone at 10pm on Wednesday and asking if I could zoom with the team the next day… little did I know it would be Nitti Gritti and Party Favor (SIDEPIECE) staring at me on the other end telling me I won the contest lol. The whole opportunity has been a blessing and I can’t wait to perform at EDC Las Vegas this year!”

Diskull kicked off his career back in 2017, and has been releasing with some of the industry’s largest labels ever since, among them Insomniac, Dirtybird, Box of Cats, Country Club Disco and Do Not Duplicate. Bringing together house grooves, modern elements and a hint of bass music, Diskull has also launched his own record label Groovy Bone, which has charted in the Beatport Top 100 multiple times.
