Ed Sheeran turned away from own label’s Grammy Awards afterparty

Ed Sheeran was denied access to his own record label’s Grammy Awards afterparty.

The ‘Shape Of You‘ singer attended the star-studded ceremony at Los Angeles’ Staples Centre before heading to Milk Studios, where his record label was hosting a post-Grammy’s bash.

However, the 25-year-old, who has two Grammy Awards to his name, found himself at a loose end after being refused entry – for the fourth consecutive year.

Speaking of the blunder during an interview at On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Sheeran said:  “That’s actually happened four years in a row,” he laughed. “And that’s not just my label’s after party! That’s just after parties in general.”

Sheeran was among many guests to be turned away after the venue reached full capacity just one hour after it had opened.

Following the rejection, the singer attended a house party hosted by Diplo and Benny Blanco in the Hollywood Hills.

I arrived there super early and I was like, ‘This is really cool! No one’s here!‘” the singer recalled. “And then suddenly 2,000 people turned up and I was like, ‘I’m going.'”

Performing is what I love doing,” he explained, “I’m more nervous to talk to people, because I’m not very good.

Ed was attending the Grammy Awards ahead of the release of his new album ÷ , which drops on Friday 3rd March 2017.
