Immi Dash unveils intense new single ‘Free Falling’

Liverpool-based R&B up-and-comer Immi Dash is swiftly becoming highly regarded on the live scene, performing at highly regarded venues such as the Cavern Club, supporting Slum Village at Future Yard on their UK tour, and showcasing internationally at Rotterdam’s ‘New Skool Rules Festival’. Further support from tastemakers for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition, BBC Introducing and various publications are setting Immi up for an enticing 2024 after her previous EP ‘Falling Apart At The Seams’

For her latest release, Immi has unveiled ‘Free Falling’, an intense and emotional anthem laced with unstoppable percussive movement and rich synth-bass tones. Opening with a bewitchingly heavy atmosphere, complemented by a powerful and confident vocal performance, the soundscape steadily expands into something vibrant and forceful, each additional layer crashing around the lead line until a climax shatters any facade of fragility in the final moments.

Immi shares her thoughts around the single, “‘Free Falling’ is about how life can feel totally out of our hands at times. It’s about my personal feelings of uncertainty & a fear of things not going the way I’d hoped in life. The song itself is very visual for me. When I wrote it, I was imagining an apocalyptic battle scene on the top of a building, where one person is pushed and is left to ‘free fall’ through the air. We wanted to create a cinematic soundscape to reflect that dark scene. The track was produced by Naila, mixed by Nak and mastered by Pete Maher.”
