Jessie Ware shares new track ‘Sam’, co-written by Ed Sheeran

This Friday, English pop singer Jessie Ware will release Glasshouse, her third full-length album. In the last few months of build-up to it she has already shared a few cracking singles in the form of ‘Midnight‘, ‘Selfish Love‘ and ‘Alone‘, but this final preview of the album offers something quite different.

Structured around simple acoustic guitar, trumpet contributed by Nico Segal, spare bass from The Who‘s Pino Palladino and some delicate backing vocals and effects, ‘Sam‘ is the perfect paean to her husband and father of her child, Sam Burrows. Its lyrics were co-written by Ed Sheeran, who is best-known for this kind of stripped-back acoustic fare, which is probably why the song works so beautifully and is so affecting – not to mention Ware’s subtly impassioned vocal performance. Listen to the ballad below.

Sam‘ makes a perfect closing track to Glasshouse, which you will be able to listen to in full upon its release this Friday 20th October.
