JT reveals real reason for N-Sync split

Justin Timberlake has revealed why he left N-Sync.

The US boyband embarked upon a “temporary hiatus” in 2002, but never recorded again. It took another five years for fellow bandmate Lance Bass to confirm that they had “definitely broken up“.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Timberlake confided: “We were on a stadium tour, and I just felt like the whole thing was too big. It started as a fun snowball fight that was becoming an avalanche. And, also, I was growing out of it… I felt like I cared more about the music than some of the other people in the group. I felt like I had other music to make and that I needed to follow my heart.

Following the group’s dissolution, Timberlake went on to forge a hugely successful solo career starting with the acclaimed album Justified, which spawned global hits ‘Like I Love You’ and ‘Rock Your Body’.

The other members of N-Sync joined Timberlake on stage at the MTV VMAs in 2013, although they have never officially reformed.
