Animal Collective have shared brand new song ‘Kinda Bonkers‘.
The experimental trio, known for their wacky and adventurous sound, dropped the mesmerising track yesterday, along with an announcement of a new EP.
Four-track EP The Painters will be out this Friday and will feature ‘Kinda Bonkers’ and two other songs, as well as a cover of Martha & the Vandellas‘ hit ‘Jimmy Mack‘. The collection is a counterpart to last year’s Painting With album and was recorded around the same time.
‘Kinda Bonkers‘ was released with an equally weird and fun lyric video by Jack Kubizne. Watch the video below.
Painting With was the tenth studio album by the American experimental pop band, released on February 19th, 2016. The album is a follow-up to Centipede Hz, and features contributions from John Cale and Colin Stetson.
Last year, the group released two live albums to combat North Carolina’s Anti-LGBT “bathroom bill“. They made two of their favourite gigs available for download in a “pay as you want” format to raise money for an organisation that is combating the state’s HB2 law.
