London’s rock n roll raconteurs Ballin’ Jacks have released their cynically sweet debut single, Success

London’s sweetest prodigal sons of rock n roll, Ballin’ Jacks, have released their debut single, Success, which delivers a potent dose of 60s psych-pop and 70s rock nostalgia while taking a tongue in cheek stab at the state of showbusiness.

Despite the cynicism directed at the dire state of the industry, Success carries as much soul as the iconic records from the golden era of Motown, but it doesn’t fall short of vintage rock and roll stripes either. The track is a cheeky middle finger to the people that place expectations upon artists to succeed while having no idea their expectations are, for the most part, unviable.

The feel-good grooves take inspiration from the likes of the Beach Boys, Phil Spector and Daptone Records, and Ballin’ Jacks left plenty of room for their hazy ingenuity, which resonates through the warm euphoria-bleeding piano melodies.

Ballin’ Jacks may be fresh from their official debut single but their story began in 2014. After multiple changes to their line-up, the powerhouse has finally found its final form with Rudy Blu (Vocals/Guitar), George Adams (Guitar/Vocals), Freddie Waxman (Piano/Vocals), Euan Dean (Bass) and Joao Grazi (Drums).

Ballin’ Jacks’ debut single, which was mixed and mastered by Brett Shaw at 123 studios and recorded between 123 Studios and Konk with Josh Green, is now available to stream on all major platforms.
