Mavi Phoenix has released her new EP, Young Prophet, which also comes with two bonus tracks, ‘Janet Jackson‘ and ‘White Polo‘.
The new EP goes from strength to strength as Phoenix teases her creativity throughout. From blunt, fiery hip-hop tracks and G-funk inspired beats to more dreamy magical sounding cuts, Young Prophet covers a lot of ground in its short time span. Her vocals wander effortlessly between feisty and energetic and woozy and melodic mirroring the EP’s production techniques.

Speaking about her track ‘Janet Jackson‘, the 22-year-old artist explains it’s about “the feeling of when you go big and are really confident but then you still know something isn’t quite right and feels kind of odd.”
“When writing this song I imagined what it would be like to have made it and also thought of the bittersweet aspects that come with it.”
