Aphex Twin has released new music in the guise of the song ‘tnodvood104’.
Uploaded to SoundCloud on Christmas Day, the release is the first from the musician/producer, AKA Richard D. James, since July’s ‘Cheetah’ EP – which in turn followed 2014’s full-length ‘Syro’ album.
James was recently confirmed, alongside Flying Lotus, for 2017’s Field Day festival in East London’s Victoria Park.
Aphex Twin recently performed in the US for the first time since Coachella festival in 2008. James joined Björk, Travis Scott and Run The Jewels for a set at Houston’s Day For Night festival.
Active for over 20 years, James’ first release as Aphex Twin – later changed to AFX – was in 1991 with the 12-inch EP ‘Analogue Bubblebath’, and he has been a mainstay of the electronic scene ever since.
