Listen to Sam Smith’s new song ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’

Sam Smith has shared his first new song in two years, ‘Too Good At Goodbyes‘.

The song follows his last single, ‘Drowning Shadows‘, which was released back in 2015. Last week the singer shared a mysterious post online assuring fans that new music would arrive soon. The post picture a billboard in East London’s Shoreditch and featured a grey scale Sam Smith looking deep in thought with a date “September 8“. Too Good At Goodbyes‘ was written by Jimmy Napes, his longtime collaborator, and songwriting duo Stargate.

Speaking of the track Smith muses: “This song is about a relationship I was in and it’s basically about getting good at getting dumped. It’s been a long while since I’ve put any music out and I feel that this first single sets the tone of what is to come.

The ‘Stay With Me‘ singer delivered the James Bond Spectre film theme back in 2015 and also won Best Original Song at the 2016 Oscars for ‘Writing’s On The Wall‘.
