Quicksand is about my determination to reach goals and always wanting more. When you truly love what you do you become obsessive and crave better results. I get so wrapped up in bettering my art and, for instance, when I look up to see the opening act’s crowd leaving the venue (at record breaking time) I feel like- after all these years/hours/miles- I’m treading water or even sinking. Self doubt is a very potent poison especially for the modern musician. Technology has made it so easy to get your music and message out to mass crowds, yet its never been more challenging to create a buzz. The key is to (like the song says) just press on and believe. If you believe others will follow.
