The Corrs – White Light

The Corrs are back!!! After a ten year absence the Irish family are back with a triumphant return full of musical magic and brilliance that sees them cement their place as one of the best bands that has left the Irish shores.

White Light is a dozen records that blend from the barnstorming Irish folk track Stay to the pop wonders that saw them rocket to the top of the charts with tracks like I Do What I Like and the new single Bring On The Night which you can watch above.

Having lost their father this year track eight Gerry’s Reel is a poignant dedication to him and is Irish music at it’s best. Ellis Island is another track that has an aura about it and has the ability to be a single with the musical prowess that it possesses.

The highlight of the album for me is the track Stay, which I think brings all the elements of the Corrs together perfectly as they have never been afraid to release the more commercial pop record but keep to their roots of folk music which this record epitomises. It is a beautiful record that transports you to an Irish bar in the heart of Dublin with them performing it in front of you whilst you yell ‘hey’ at the relevant times!

This album is a strong comeback and with a tour in January throughout the UK and having been announced in the opening acts for the Isle of Wight festival, 2016 is going to be a busy one for the Corrs on their much welcomed return. You can get your copy of the album from itunes now and you can buy your tickets to their comeback tour here.
