The Foo Fighters brought Rick Astley on stage during their headline set at Summersonic Festival in Japan.
Despite being an 80’s classic (and a 00’s meme), Rick Asley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up‘ is seemingly always relevant. The singer has made numerous appearances on shows and events and was even nominated for Best Act Ever at the 2008 MTV Awards after the reassurance of the song in the early 2000’s.
In case you were under the impression the song had been finally laid to rest, Astley joined arguably one of the biggest names in music this weekend to perform his hit. The Foo Fighters introduced the singer to the stage before playing a version of Nirvana‘s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit‘ when Astley joined in with the lyrics his 1987 single. The Foo Fighters will be releasing their new album, Concrete and Gold, as a follow up to their 2014 Sonic Highways on 15th September. The band released a video for their single ‘Run‘ and have since played several new tracks including ‘Dirty Water‘.
