Watch a preview of Ed Sheeran’s cameo in The Simpsons

Earlier this year it was announced that Ed Sheeran was set to appear in an episode of The Simpsons and now a preview of the episode has been released.

The clip sees the singer team up with Springfield’s favourite saxophonist, Lisa Simpson, for a duet in the family’s garage. Homer bangs on the wall trying to get the pair to quieten down but they both just end up playing to the beat of his fists hitting the wall. Check out the footage below.

Sheeran will star in the episode ‘Haw-Haw Land‘ with his character loosely being based on Ryan Gosling‘s performance in La La Land. The ‘Shape Of You‘ singer will play Brendan, a character based on Sebastian (Gosling’s La La Land role) and will be depicted wearing a fedora hat with his signature red hair.

The forthcoming episode is part of the 29th series of the show and is due to air on Sunday 7th January.

Earlier this year Sheeran made a cameo in the seventh season of HBO’s Game of Thrones which resulted in him deleting his Twitter account due to a social backlash. Read more about that here.
