Elros’ All Time Top 10s

Best

Based in a small town in Puerto Rico, Edgardo Rubero, better known as Elros is quickly introducing himself within the electronic music scene. Driven by his signature motto “Music should be about life, love, heart, and giving something to the audience that otherwise they can’t find in anything else” – Elros is becoming synonymous with emotional, melodic, cross-genre music.

Starting out as a musician, the Orocovis based DJ and producer found his love towards Dance music after going through piano teachings at the Conservatory of Puerto Rico. Since then he’s become a self-taught producer, creating his own EDM style, driven by simple sounds, euphoric drops, contrasting melodies and soundtrack inspired chord progressions.

Having halted his activity for a while, he is now back in business, planning some stunning releases in 2015. We’ve sat down with Elros to go through his influences and the Top 10 tracks which inspired him to become the artist he is today.

Hi Elros, give as a run-through of the Top 10 tracks in your collection.

I always have a go-to track list with me. When I need to be relaxed, inspired or simply want to listen to good music, these tracks always do the job. Almost a decade of music, for me, these are the TOP 10 of all time.

Kyau & Albert – Megashira

Kyau & Albert have always been a part of my musical choice since pretty much I started making music. ‘Megashira’ was made almost 10 years ago, and I still feel it’s relevant to today’s music market. When you want to have a listen at good music or you want to play something heavy in a club, ‘Megashira’ accomplishes that task. I still think they’re one of the most underrated producers.

Sander van Doorn – Daisy

The first time I heard this track it was actually the first time I saw Sander van Doorn play live. I couldn’t believe the energy and the feeling that a simple G chord into a Bm chord could create. Such a powerful tune with two chords and one simple lead.

Trentemøller: Shades Of Marble

Most of the time if you listen to these guys you’ll notice that they just add more elements to a track to create an atmospheric feeling. If you’re really systematic when making music, these guys will give you an anxiety attack. They don’t have a structure yet they create some amazingly catchy tracks. And they sound even better live. This track is a clear example of that.

Armin van Buuren feat. Lauren Evans – Alone

One of the most important aspects of music is to tell a story and give a message. This track has everything you need in a song – a beautiful message and amazing melody. I was asked to remix it – I declined, I can’t fix what’s already perfect.

Spencer & Hill and Nadia Ali – Believe It (Cazzette Remix)

I don’t know what’s more catchy, the chord progression or the vocal. An oldie but a good one. It will definitely transport you and make you daydream.

__

Rye Rye – Never Will Be Mine (Fedde Le Grand Dub Remix) [feat. Robyn]

One simple, dirty bass line and a heavy kick – that’s all you need to create hype and hysteria.

__

Gareth Emery feat. Christina Novelli – Concrete Angel

Still makes the crowd moves and sing along. Nothing can beat a good melody with a beautiful vocal – it’s a timeless song.

__

David Guetta – She Wolf (Falling To Pieces) ft. Sia

I’ve always liked Sia. The intro pianos and muted guitar make this track a memorable and hypnotizing experience.

__

Tiësto & KSHMR feat. Vassy – Secrets

One of the most recent tracks in this list – KSHMR blew everyone’s mind with the chord progression, and obviously Vassy killed those vocals.

__

Seven Lions – December (Feat. Davey Havok)

I thought ‘Seven Lions’ were like seven guys – it’s just one guy. The track is new and it’s timeless. 5 years from now everybody will still love the harmonics and the deep and dark chord progression.
