A very solid original pop song, released alongside a very well produced thumping remix, ‘The Future’ is the new single from New York based songwriter Monica Lionheart. Currently building a reputation in the US for aligning her acoustic songwriting with the electronic dance technologies, ‘The Future’ will see her take her very first steps into the global music industry:
Based around a looped chord pattern that stabilises the melodies that are catchy in both the verses and the choruses, the song proves that not all pop music is to be sniffed at. It’s easy to belittle the efforts of commercially viable artists, particularly in this day and age of empty reality TV winners clogging the chart, but in the case of Ms. Lionheart this is an artist who has something different about her.

Converting the original pop song into a more pumping dance number (albeit with some nice chugged guitar chords that give it an almost rock feel towards the beginning), this effort from The Pinker Tones is a solid one, taking an already excellent song and giving it a new flavour.
