When English songwriter Natalie Indya West and Indian singer/model/actress Sunny Andrea teamed up, the culture clash between the two was bound to create something outside of the ordinary. New single ‘Goddess’, out now, demonstrates perfectly the multi-cultural chemistry of the talented pair.
The aim of the track seems to be to lull its listener into an almost trance-like state, with its hypnotic loops, rhythms and melodies ebbing and flowing throughout. The Indian additions offer a taste of Bollywood in a track which otherwise would have been a simple pop tune.
As it stands though, the offbeat aspects of this track give it some breathing space among the throng of independent artists, and it will be interesting to find out whether more collaborations will bear similar fruit.
