Unsigned band Room 94’s debut album ‘No Strings Attached’ enters UK Official Album Chart at #28

Unsigned Hertfordshire four-piece pop-rockers Room 94 debut album ‘No Strings Attached’ has officially entered the official Album Chart at number 28 today.

The band are unsigned and through all their own hard work, touring, building fan base and promotion online and in person have entered the UK Official Album Chart at #28 this weekhttps://www.officialcharts.com/albums-chart/ , as well as the UK Official Indie Chart at #7https://www.officialcharts.com/independent-albums-chart/ and Official Record Store Chart at #4 https://www.officialcharts.com/record-store-albums-chart/ the band have had a very busy week and as well as their self-released album charting, the band have been on a whirlwind tour of the UK to self promote the album which has included dropping into the Radio 1 studios for an interview with host Matt Edmondson, visits to indie and HMV stores in major cities across the UK to meet the thousands of fans who turned up to sign their CDs and thank their ever growing fan base for all the support.

The band’s recent tour UK headline tour saw them fill venues up and down the UK culminating in the bands biggest London show to date at the prestigious KOKO in Camden, London on 7th March.

Room 94, consisting of brothers Dean, Kieran and Sean Lemon along with friend Kit Tanton have used online media to build up a large loyal fan base around the world, as well as serving their musical apprenticeship by continual touring around the U.K. and Europe. They are shortly leaving to set off on a two week tour of Poland where previously they have been mobbed by Polish fans at the airport and have required a Police escort to get through the terminal building. In fact, on their recent UK tour they have been attracting massive crowds and management had to call in help from local police to control crowds in Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle.

Room 94 are one of the new generation of bands that have utilised the online community to get their music heard. By zipping up and sending MP3 files across the electronic universe, displaying their latest video on YouTube and by communicating with the fans in person via Facebook and Twitter, they have worked hard to get the music out there. Couple this with an old school approach of touring, including support tours with Lawson and more recently Union J (after all it is still all about the live show) and you have a winning formula. The band can be seen trending worldwide on a regular basis on Twitter and most recently have garnered support from Radio 1.

Singer Kieran Lemon explained, “We have been lucky enough to have been doing this for a couple of years now and we have played the small clubs where no one turns up, but we kept on going and making more fans until we got to the stage where we were playing sold out shows. We’ve just finished a U.K. headline tour and to play at venues like Koko in Camden was like a dream come true. We’ve also been lucky enough to support some big acts too, like Lawson and Union J, and played in some arenas which was crazy. And now we have this happen with the album!”

Without the backing of a record label, Room 94 have used social media to promote their music and their tours. Drummer Dean Lemon explained, “obviously we would love to be signed to a major label but you can’t just hang around and hope it happens, but if there’s any out there…. Seriously though we tour and record music ourselves and we make sure that our fans can access all of our stuff via the internet. We’re on Facebook every day and we use Twitter and YouTube, our fans are very much part of the team and we want to involve them with the band as much as we can”.

The success of the debut album “No Strings Attached” has caught the young band by surprise, “We released the album ourselves hoping we would do well and hoping that the fans would like it”, said guitarist Sean Lemon. “But to suddenly find that it has entered the top 40 album charts is amazing!”, bassist Kit added, “it makes all of the hard work seem worth it and makes you want to carry on and try even harder.”
