2012 X Factor live show finalist Melanie Masson has been nominated in the best newcomer in the Capital FM/Scottish Variety Awards category.
The award ceremony takes place March 22nd at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow and all proceeds raised will go to the charities Debra and Help A Capital Child.
Melanie Masson stormed through the auditions, bootcamp and judges houses in 2012, thanks to her powerhouse voice. Before the live shows started, I said this about Melanie “I really like Melanie and I would sign her to my agency tomorrow. I really hope the show gives her a career, long after it is finished”
I caught up with Melanie and she told us “I’m really delighted. I’ve never been nominated for an award before and it means a lot to me. It’s just brilliant news. I’d love to win it but I’m up against 4 hot young bands so we’ll see haha! I hope everyone votes for the hot rockin’ mama”
