Mike Shinoda is open to recruiting a new singer for Linkin Park

Mike Shinoda has discussed the possibility of finding a new vocalist to replace his Linkin Park co-founder, the late Chester Bennington.

In an interview with Rock Antenne, Shinoda spoke about how the band might continue following the tragic death of their frontman.

The co-vocalist explained that finding a new singer wasn’t their main priority, but it could happen over time: “That’s not my goal right now. I think it has to happen naturally. And if we find somebody that’s a great person that we think is a good personality fit and a good stylistic fit, then I could see trying to do some stuff with somebody.”

He added that any new vocalist wouldn’t be chosen “for the sake of replacing” Bennington, as they “wouldn’t wanna ever feel like we were replacing Chester”.

It was recently announced that Bennington’s first band, Grey Daze are re-recording their old material with the help of Chester’s 22-year-old son Jaime on vocals.
