Continuing from a successful 2023 featuring several standout singles, Alasdair James Dodds erupts into 2024 with the upbeat and powerful piano piece ‘Fearless‘. Despite being an instrumental track, ‘Fearless,’ conveys a rich spectrum of emotion; particularly vivid in shades of fortitude and strength, hence the single’s title. Drawing inspiration from individuals, groups and societies facing difficulty, facing and fighting battles (both figuratively and literally), Dodds aims to motivate those struggling to be courageous and determined in the face of their adversity. ‘There is no act too small to show your courage and be strong, to be fearless. This piece is my expression of feelings and support for people in difficulty. You can do it. Be fearless.’ Recorded across a two week period at Alasdair’s home studio, ‘Fearless,’ quickly became one of Dodd’s finest works to date and marks the beginning of a very promising year.
Alasdair James Dodds is a composer and producer who was first introduced to the piano as a teenager, and has spent over twenty years experimenting with electronic, jazz, classical and cinematic genres. Over these first two decades, Dodds crafted music solely for his own ears, a private outlet of self-expression. However, a shift occurred in 2018 when Dodds earned his first IMDB credit for his work in film, marking a pivotal moment in his artistic trajectory. The turning point came with Dodds’ inaugural track release on July 24, 2022, with “A Day With You,” followed by “Crowned” and “Momentum,” both of which garnered praise and recognition from publications like WWAM and VENTS magazines. Building on this momentum, Dodds has since released a total of ten singles, each showcasing his mastery of instrumental music. Dodds’ musical repertoire spans a vast spectrum of styles, reflecting his penchant for variety in both his art and his life. From classical piano solos to full orchestral movements, from the sultry tones of jazz to the soothing melodies of easy-listening electronic music, Dodds’ music defies categorization. His ability to craft sincere beauty through his instrumentals has not gone unnoticed, with WWAM noting in October 2022 that Dodds “creates sincere beauty on instrumental, ‘Momentum.'” This sentiment encapsulates Dodds’ commitment to expressing his rawest emotions in each soulful track he creates and establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the contemporary music scene.
