Courtney Barnett releases new song ‘Nameless, Faceless’ and announces new album

Earlier this week Courtney Barnett teased her fans by posting a short snippet of her in the studio on her Twitter, punctuated by the phrase “tell me how you really feel.” Today, it has been revealed that Tell Me How You Really Feel is the title of the Australian’s new album, which will be coming out in May.

Along with the album announcement comes the lead single, ‘Nameless, Faceless‘, a straightforward rock banger which finds Courtney in full stride lyrically. By turns comical and confrontational, ‘Nameless, Faceless‘ puts down a leeching presence with perfect poise: “I could eat a bowl of alphabet soup and spit out better words than you.” When it comes to the scorching chorus, things take on a more serious edge, as Barnett adapts a Margaret Atwood quote for her purposes, forcefully singing “Men are scared that women will laugh at them/ I want to walk through the park in the dark/ Women are scared that men will kill them/ I hold my keys between my fingers.

Tell Me How You Really Feel comes out through Marathon Artists on 18th May and can be pre-ordered here.
