Di Ivories explained, “The process behind writing the song was an inner struggle to combine two opposite emotions and make them sound like they belonged together. The verses are dark and almost evil sounding, while the choruses sound hopeful and energetic. After listening for a thousand times, I realized this song was about waiting for good news and bad news at the same time. This song was written in March 2020, as the pandemic was starting to roll out here.”
